Star Wars & the USPS - A New Galactic Empire?

If you've been in a Post Office lately, you probably noticed all the Star Wars stuff. For huge Star Wars geeks like Ryan and I (check out his desk picture, or us with the cardboard standup you'll see in many Post Offices to the right), this means that buying stamps just shot up our priority list. The U.S. Postal Service is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Star Wars by giving away some great prizes, including eBay Gift Certificates and a trip to Celebration IV, and is asking everyone to help them decide which is the best commemorative Star Wars stamp. Make sure you check out the site. Plus, keep an eye out for the mailboxes dressed up like R2D2 - there's one right on our campus.

We wanted to get in on this as well because 1) we have a great relationship with the USPS and wanted to get in on the fun, and 2) Star Wars is the greatest thing of all time [Editor's note: Jeff apparently likes hyperbole]. The appropriately-named Mpire, who created eBay Pop, has used the Force to create a fun Star Wars page that all fans should visit. Vote which characters are better, check out some Star Wars-related eBay Groups, and see which Star Wars items are hot. Take a look, and - I can't resist - May the Force be With You.
