Thinking Pink on the Ice

With St. Patrick's Day last Saturday, green was the color of the weekend for most people. But in the National Hockey League, the color of choice was actually pink. To raise money and awareness as part of the 2007 Tribute to Hockey Moms and Breast Cancer Fundraiser, many players took to the ice armed with pink sticks specially made by TPS (that's Dean McAmmond of the Ottawa Senators to the right). Each of the sticks was signed by the player afterwards and listed on eBay Canada, with the proceeds going towards breast cancer research.

If you're a hockey nut (like I am), or just looking to support a good cause, check out the long list of participating players. It's quite impressive, with superstars like Joe Sakic, Dominik Hasek, Mats Sundin, Vincent Lecavalier, and Keith Tkachuk thinking pink.
