It's Moving Day

No, the blog isn't going anywhere...just the writers. As mentioned in the recent New York Times feature on John Donahoe, our President of eBay Marketplaces, we're "stirring up the cubes" today (you might need to go through their free registration to read the article). Almost every employee is being moved to a new place on campus, making this the biggest switcheroo in eBay history. To the right is what the hallway looks like around our cubes right now, as I rifle through a box. (And if you do read the NYT article, make sure to check out Laura's recent blog post too.)

While packing up is never really fun - and I'm having trouble fitting all my bobbleheads/toys/signs-of-my-maturity-level into my given boxes - the end result should be very positive. People will be sitting closer to the folks they work with most often, which will be particularly nice for us. Right now half our meetings are on the other side of campus, although I'll have to figure out some way to make up for the exercise loss since I won't have to walk as far.

As you can see to the left, my colleague Matt hasn't really started packing yet (slacker!), while Jen on the right, who you might remember from this video about eBay Giving Works and National Philanthropy Day, is ahead of the game.
