Transporting that eBay Snow

Posted by Jeff on January 17, 2007 at 04:44 PM in General | Permalink

Jeff_post_114A few days ago I blogged about a Colorado couple who sold 3 snowballs on the site to a Snowball_1 Connecticut man looking to give his daughters a white Christmas. What vexed me was how they were going to ship the snowballs without them turning into giant puddles before arrival. Well, it turns out the story has a happy ending.

It's all detailed in this write-up in the Rocky Mountain News, but Denver-based Frontier airlines apparently found out about the sale, and donated two seats on a flight to LaGuardia so the sellers could deliver the mini-winter wonderland in person. And deliver they did. The sellers packed a cooler full of about 30 snowballs so that the buyers would get their money's worth. It all ended up as any good story should - with the buyers using the snowballs to pelt each other.
