eBay Called Out During NFL Opener

Posted by Ryan on September 08, 2006 at 02:05 PM in eBay in Pop Culture , General | Permalink

Ryan_post_24 Al2_1 This may have gone unnoticed by many of you NFL fans watching the opener last night on NBC, but legendary announcer Al Michaels called out eBay during the broadcast.  Yes, this is the same Al Michaels who made the famous "Do you believe in miracles? YES!!!" call during the "miracle on ice" in the 1980 Winter Olympics.

With about 9 minutes left in the first half, John Madden and Al Michaels welcomed new NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to the broadcast booth.  While discussing many NFL topics, John presented the commissioner with the ball used during the opening kick-off, which is also the first game used ball featuring Goodell's name.  Al immediately joked "Now there's a ball you won't find on eBay."

We'll see Al...we'll see.
