We're Orienteering

No, we're not really finding our way in the forest....we're finding our away around eBay Live! Today was the first look at the show floor for most of us, and it is really impressive. And extremely large, but more on that in a minute. After flying in, we headed to our orientation meeting. The show team had hired an inprovisational comedy troupe called Comedy Sportz to give a refresher on how (and how not) to interact with members, and they had the crowd in stitches. And as any good comedy troupe does, they had an interactive segment where they had employees come up on stage. That's Chris Maliwat of our eBay Express
marketing team doing...uhh...some sort of dance.
Then we headed out for the tour of the floor. Many of the booths are still being put together, but we got a great sense of what everything is going to look like. The Pinks Lounge especially is going to be awesome - not only does it have the usual sitting areas and fun activities, but it's two stories so you can get a bird's-eye view of the entire floor. Very cool.
And as I mentioned, this place is big. How big? I was talking to a few of the people who've been here setting up for the past few days. One of our IT guys who's setting up all the computer stations was smart enough to bring a pedometer with him. By his count, he's walking 8-10 miles per day on the floor. That was enough to cause me to come back to the room and look up "comfortable shoes" on the site.
The excitement starts tomorrow, so check back often!
