View From The Pinks Lounge

The Pinks Lounge might be the most aptly-named place at this event. It sits right in the middle of the Solutions Center floor, a giant, gleaming, Pink beacon. And of course it's Vegas-themed...the supports are "made" of poker chips, and there are giant "chips" in the floors. Folks stop by to meet up with other members, some of the Community staff they interact with in the boards (known as Pinks for the pink band that shows up whenever an employee posts - that's Scooch, Matt_W and a few others messing around before the show starts in the picture below), to learn  about Community resources (like this great blog), and simply to rest their legs. Let me tell you....those soft couches have hypnotic powers  when you've been on your feet for hours and hours.

This year the Lounge got quite a bit of a makeover. In past years it's been pretty wide open, with couches and computer stations. But this year it's sporting pink arches, is bathed in a pink glow (which is why a lot of our pictures have that pink hue), and has a second story for you to survey the entire show floor. And oh, have I mentioned it's very Pink?

I asked a few members what their first impressions of the Lounge were. chelle9851 said, "I love it....it's definitely very, very pink." Others had other things first come to mind. Laughed misshelenes, "It looks like Barbie's Playhouse." silvernlace felt that "it looks like something straight out of the '50s" - which was actually a good thing because she's a big fan  of the retro look. leckron's answer made me laugh the most: "It makes me want Pepto-Bismol."
