Some familar faces...and some new!

Laura_post_1 This is my 5th eBay Live! (wow, time sure does fly...)  I had my first spin around this morning just a bit ago, and things were just starting to get warmed up.  I headed over to the Solutions Center and immediately made my way to the Pinks Lounge.  My fellow Community Development co-workers were ready and eager to start greeting members.  A few familar faces were already there.... including these two stars...

Billcobbbobal_1 Bill Cobb, President of eBay North America, had just strolled up to the Pinks Lounge to spend some time talking to members.  And our good friend, and former Community Hall of Fame winner, bobal,  happened to be there, too.  Bill and bobal were chatting and catching up, when I asked them to pose for this picture for the blog.  Bobal said it was a 4-1/2 hour drive to get here.  He told Bill he feels great, and he certainly looks great.

Many of our readers may not know that Community members started a collection to bring bobal here this year.  It was a way of saying "thanks" to him for all the help he has offered others on the boards for so many years. You can read more about this on the eBay Live! 2006 discussion board thread from May 2006.   bobal has MS and any additional funds are being donated to the MS Society.

Mattmax_2_1 Next I wandered over to a section of the booth with cushy couches and met mattmax, a husband/wife Powerseller team who sell "a little bit of everything, especially toys and collectibles."  (They were sitting under a canopy that has been pink-lit, which explains the unusual  pink glow they seem to be sporting. ) She's a nurse, and he's a professor.  Although they have selling on the site for about 6 years or so, this is their very first eBay Live! event. They traveled all the way from Louisiana to be here, and they told me they are pretty impressed so far.  Their one goal is to come away with ideas for where to get more to sell.  With all kinds of networking opportunities and advanced selling classes, I think they've come to the right place.
